About the Author

The author Balon Buchanan Bradley was born in 1953 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. His father was serving in the Army at the time. His father, Gene Buchanan “Buck” Bradley had a Ph. D. in Chemistry and was a partner in Quality Chemical Company in Austin, Texas. Buck Bradley was killed in an explosion at the chemical company in 1960. That was the most important point of the author’s life. It changed his course. His mother, Betty Ann Biel Bradley Edgerton went back to the University of Texas and obtained her Masters Degree and Ph. D. in Science Education. His mother moved Balon and his younger brother, Blake, with her to Abilene, Texas, where she accepted a teaching position at McMurry College. The greatest mentor, liberal, parent and person in his life was his mother, which of course, made him a “momma’s boy.” This is a moniker he has lovingly embraced his entire life. Betty Ann left a huge footprint on those who knew her. Her goal was for him to achieve a doctorate degree and become a missionary before he was twenty-five. He managed the doctorate degree but did not hear the call of mission work. Balon graduated from Oscar Henry Cooper High, The University of Texas and the University of Houston Law School. After graduating from law school, Balon went to work for the Dallas County District Attorney. After three years as an assistant district attorney, he left to start his private practice. Balon has a personal injury practice in Dallas (bbradleylaw.com). Balon is married to Anne and has two wonderful children, Alison and Katharine. Balon is a liberal. He wants you to understand what liberals think. He believes that liberals and conservatives share a majority of core values and great love of the United States.
